Qualified first aiders, emergency first aiders, dental practitioners, dental care professionals, nurses, healthcare staff and others working where medical oxygen is available for casualty care.
Description
A focused course that enables learners to administer medical oxygen safely and effectively to casualties with breathing difficulties. Learners cover when oxygen is indicated, relevant guidelines and protocols, and the safety considerations for carrying, storing and using oxygen equipment.
What you'll learn
- Principles, benefits, indications and contraindications of oxygen therapy.
- How to assess when oxygen is required and select appropriate delivery devices.
- Safe use, storage and handling of oxygen cylinders and equipment, including operational checks and administering oxygen at the correct flow rates.

1 day (typically 6 guided learning hours), scheduled to suit your shift patterns and operational needs.
Certification
Ofqual-regulated FAA Level 3 Award in Oxygen Therapy Administration (RQF), valid for 3 years.
