First Aid at Work Requalification (FAWR) (Level 3)
Who is this for?
Qualified First Aiders whose current First Aid at Work (FAW) certificate is due to expire or has recently expired, and who need to renew for another 3 years. Suitable for staff in higher-risk or larger workplaces such as construction, manufacturing, warehousing, transport, engineering, education, care, hospitality and large offices.
Description
A 2-day Ofqual-regulated Level 3 refresher course that updates and refreshes the full First Aid at Work syllabus. The course is designed to refresh knowledge, sharpen practical skills and ensure first aiders remain confident and compliant with current HSE guidance and best practice. Delegates revisit all major FAW topics through scenarios, practical exercises and assessment, so they are ready to respond effectively to real workplace emergencies.
What you'll learn
- Refresher of the full FAW syllabus, including primary and secondary surveys.
- Updated CPR and AED protocols and practice.
- Managing unresponsive casualties, choking, shock and seizures.
- Treatment of bleeding, wounds, burns, scalds and eye injuries.
- Management of fractures, sprains, spinal and chest injuries.
- Recognition and first aid for major illnesses (heart attack, stroke, asthma, anaphylaxis, epilepsy, diabetes, poisoning).
- Review of workplace responsibilities, first aid equipment and record-keeping.
Course Duration
2 days (typically 12 guided learning hours), scheduled to suit your shift patterns and operational needs.
Certification
Ofqual-regulated FAA Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF) – Requalification, valid for 3 years and recognised by the HSE for First Aider at Work requirements.
Delivery & Delegate Numbers
Classroom or on-site delivery at your premises. Maximum 12 delegates per trainer. Learners must hold a valid (or recently expired) FAW certificate to attend.
