Fire Safety Awareness (Level 1)
Who is this for?
All employees in any workplace who need a basic understanding of fire safety, especially new starters or staff who have not had recent fire training.
Description
An introductory, half-day workshop that builds essential fire safety awareness and supports your legal duty to train staff under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. Learners gain a clear understanding of how fires start, how to reduce everyday fire risks, and what to do if a fire occurs, providing a strong foundation for anyone who may later take on fire warden or marshal duties.
What you'll learn
- Common causes and behaviour of fire, and the basics of fire legislation and individual responsibilities.
- Practical fire prevention measures, good housekeeping and what to do if a fire breaks out, including evacuation procedures.
- Awareness of fire safety equipment including fire extinguishers and how they should be used safely in an emergency (with practical extinguisher use, subject to site suitability and chosen package).
Course Duration
½ day (typically 4 guided learning hours), scheduled to suit your shift patterns and operational needs.
Certification
Ofqual-regulated FAA Level 1 Award in Fire Safety Awareness (RQF), valid for 3 years.
Delivery & Delegate Numbers
Classroom or on-site delivery at your premises with theory and practical extinguisher elements. Maximum 12 delegates per trainer.
