Who is this for?
Staff nominated as fire marshals/wardens who support evacuations and day-to-day fire safety in the workplace.
Description
A focused half-day course giving fire marshals the knowledge and confidence to respond effectively if there’s a fire. It covers how fires start and spread, emergency procedures, human behaviour in an evacuation and the practical use of fire extinguishers. There is an option to opt out of the practical fire extinguisher element, which reduces the price slightly.
What you'll learn
- How fire starts, develops and travels, and common workplace fire hazards.
- The role and responsibilities of a fire marshal, including leading evacuations and accounting for people.
- Safe use of different types of fire extinguishers and how to apply your organisation’s fire procedures in practice (with practical extinguisher use, subject to site suitability and chosen package).
Course Duration
½ day (typically 3.5–4 guided learning hours), scheduled to suit your shift patterns and operational needs.
Certification
In-house Fire Marshal / Fire Warden training certificate, recommended to be refreshed every 1–3 years.
Delivery & Delegate Numbers
Classroom or on-site delivery at your premises with theory and practical extinguisher elements. Maximum 12 delegates per trainer.
