Fire Risk Assessment
Who is this for?
Anyone responsible for a workplace or building where people work, visit or stay – including business owners, directors, landlords, facilities and H&S managers, site managers, school leaders, care-home managers and those responsible for shared areas in flats or HMOs. If you are the “responsible person” for fire safety in an office, shop, warehouse, workshop, hospitality venue, education or healthcare setting, you need a suitable and sufficient fire risk assessment in place.
Description
A professional evaluation of your building’s fire hazards, existing controls and overall compliance with fire safety regulations. Our certified Fire Risk Assessors carry out a comprehensive on-site inspection to identify potential fire risks, assess how effective your current measures are and provide clear, practical recommendations for improvement. The assessment considers how fires could start and spread, who could be at risk and how well your emergency procedures and escape routes would protect people.
What do you get?
- A formal written Fire Risk Assessment report with risks clearly explained and recommendations prioritised by level of urgency, so you know what to tackle first.
- A report suitable for fire and rescue authority inspections, internal governance and insurance records.
- Clear evidence that you are actively managing fire safety in your premises.
Course Duration
Typically between half a day and a full day on site for a standard premises, depending on building size, complexity and the number of areas to be inspected, followed by off-site time to complete the written report. Larger or multi-site organisations may require additional days.
Legal requirement / compliance
A fire risk assessment is a specific legal requirement under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 for all non-domestic premises and the common parts of residential buildings. Having a suitable and sufficient assessment, and keeping it up to date, is essential to demonstrate compliance and to reduce the risk of enforcement action or invalidated insurance.
